What is iDesign?
The iDesign Advanced WaveScan Studio system is the latest advancement in vision correction technology. Using this innovation, Dr. Beeve can customize eye laser treatments, especially for your needs. The WaveFront™ technology creates a detailed 3D map of your eyes that allows Dr. Beeve, an experienced LASIK surgeon, to measure your eyes for better vision correction.
The technology allows Dr. Beeve to detect even the smallest imperfections interfering with your vision to ensure LASIK treatment is accurate and successful.
iDesign is developed by Abbott, which also creates technology NASA uses to accurately shape and measure mirrors in telescopes to ensure the highest quality resolution of deep space images. The technology is now greatly advancing laser eye surgery for those who have nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
How does the iDesign work?
The iDesign system works as the control center for a LASIK procedure and is able to obtain five times more data about your eye structure than outdated systems, offering more precise measurements. Dr. Beeve can accurately measure the size of your pupil and see enhanced images of the topography of your cornea.
In conjunction with a LASIK procedure, Dr. Beeve uses the iDesign computer-controlled technology as a guidance system when correcting the corneal flap.
